What's new.

Every release, in plain language. Here's where Wideframe is — and where it's headed.

1.0
June 24, 2026
Launch

The first public release. Wideframe is reborn as a focused little studio for desktop wallpapers — built around the display you actually own, whatever its size or shape.

Highlights

  • NewKnow your display. Real presets for whatever you run — a 16:9 or 4K monitor, a MacBook, the 34″ UltraWide, 5K2K, the Samsung Odyssey G9, and dual/triple-monitor spans — every crop targets a real resolution.
  • NewSmart framing. Pan, zoom and nudge with rule-of-thirds and horizon guides, plus auto-framing that finds the horizon and proposes the best slice.
  • NewLive desktop preview. Judge your wallpaper behind a real menu bar, dock and icons — light or dark — before you export.
  • NewReadability adjustments. Optional auto-darken, edge vignette and a soft scrim under the dock. Non-destructive, off by default.
  • NewHonest quality guidance. See the exact output resolution and get a friendly heads-up before you ship anything soft.
  • NewOne-click Set as Wallpaper, per display, without leaving the app.
  • ProWideframe Pro ($14.99 once): watermark-free output, Library & Collections with tags, multi-monitor spanning, and schedule & shuffle.

Under the hood

  • DesignAn all-new Aurora identity — light, optimistic chrome around a dark stage where your image is the star.
  • PrivacyEverything runs on-device. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking.
